Pontoon Boat Fishing Trips

Pontoon Boat Fishing Trips are a fun way to spend a day on the water, meet new people, and maybe catch some fish. Most fishermen release their catch.

Here’s how it works: Freedom Boat Club members share their boats with the Sportsman’s Club. We pick a day when the tide is best for fishing, usually around noon.

Some trips leave from Little Harbor Marina, 606 Seagrape Drive, Ruskin. Then, we head about 4 miles northeast in Tampa Bay to Bahia Beach Reef. Trips run from about 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sign up early as spots fill fast. We use SignUpGenius.

Other trips leave from Inter-Bay Moorings LLC, 6210 Ohio Ave, Gibsonton. Then, we head down the Alafia River and out into Tampa Bay. Trips run from about 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sign up early as spots fill fast. We use SignUpGenius.

Bring your own fishing gear and bait. Most use a light spinning rod and shrimp as bait. Since bait may not be sold at the marina, stop by bait shops on US-Hwy 41 in Ruskin beforehand. The boat ride is free, thanks to the Freedom Boat Club membership, but donations for fuel and to thank the dockhand are appreciated.
