Friends of the Club

Friends of the Club are local or regional restaurants and businesses that support Kings Point Sportsman’s Club by offering special discounts to our members or providing essential services to the club. Some gun ranges, expert shooting instructors, and skilled gunsmiths also help improve our members’ shooting experience. Our network includes trusted fishing charter operators and guides who give exclusive deals to members. Additionally, respected Florida hunting preserves offer special discounts to enhance members’ outdoor activities. Besides commercial services, Friends of the Club include many non-profit groups that the club supports by raising awareness and promoting causes important to our members.

Home Pistol & Rifle Range of the Kings Point Sportsman’s Club

Gun Craft was founded in 1981 by Ben Jones. We are a full service gun shop and can give gunsmithing referrals. We are located on 10 acres in Southern Hillsborough County in Ruskin, FL. Our outdoor range includes three 35-yard ranges and one 50-yard range. We are a membership only club that is open to the public with memberships available for purchase. We are proud to be a full service firearms training facility and host training at all levels year-round, including Concealed Weapon License classes. Check out our range calendar under the Events tab for an up to date schedule.

Outdoor Range We are a 35-yard outdoor shooting range. We allow pistols, rifles and shotguns (shotgun slugs ONLY, no bird/buck shot)No caliber limitations (no tracers). We allow drawing from concealment/from a holster. This makes our range a great place to practice for conceal carrying. One target and target stand provided per person. Paper targets only. You cannot shoot any paper target with a recognizable face (silhouette targets are acceptable).Steel targets available for rent. Pistol Caliber only.

Transfer Services for Firearms Our transfer fee is $45. If you get more than one firearm transferred at once, it is $45 for the first and $10 for each additional firearm on the same background check.

Welcome to Fish This Inshore Charters guiding out of beautiful Apollo Beach, FL. We offer Tampa fishing charters for snook, redfish, trout, and more. The south shore of Tampa Bay has always been known as one of the great fisheries in our state. Fish This Inshore Charters can show you the very best Tampa Bay has to offer. From inshore flats fishing for redfish to searching the depths for grouper we have it covered. I fish a 2017 Seaborn 22FX with a 250 Suzuki 4 Stroke. This boat is equipped with Simrad Go7 GPS/Depthfinder, Minn Kota remote control trolling motor and hardtop center console with stereo. 2 livewells for bait (Fore and Aft) and fish box.  A “Seafreeze” cooler for food and beverage keeps ice for a couple days. This boat will float in 11″ and run in about 18″ of water. A 2 step hull design and “Carolina flair” at the front aids in the comfort and a dry ride. Large casting deck can accommodate 3 fishing from the front and another casting deck in the rear can hold the fourth. My boat is the perfect platform for your Tampa Bay Fishing Charter.

I can accommodate all the bay, flats and near shore fishing to make your Tampa Bay visit complete.  My favorite applications and methods to fishing the areas is live bait or artificial with light tackle spinning gear.  If you desire a catch of snook, trout, redfish or cobia, I can make it happen.

Flying Fish I is an 85ft. aluminum vessel constructed by the world renowned Gulf Craft Inc.  The 70 passenger vessel has a large salon with ample cushioned seating, a full galley, two restrooms and a sun deck for panoramic views of the Fishing trips include a licensed crew, fishing license, rod and reel, bait, tackle, and help from the mates. Fish storage is provided on board. The Flying Fish I offers food, drinks, and fish cleaning for an extra fee. Bring sunscreen, snacks, and cash for tips.

The Big Catch

Big Catch is a deep sea custom 43’ Hatteras Express. The two air-conditioned  staterooms, two head layout below comfortably sleeps six.  The weight, hull design and lower center of gravity combine to give you the fish-ability that Hatteras is famous for. The cockpit is 130 square feet of hard core fishing complete with a built-in fish box, live well and tuna door.

The Rupp outriggers and ample rod storage allow us the flexibility to quickly change gears from bottom fishing to trolling to pitching live baits.  Functionality, flexibility and room all combine so our customers can maximize their experience and catch more fish. The trip includes rods, reels, bait, tackle, a fishing license, and help from experienced crew to ensure a good fishing trip.

Fishing trips range from 4 to 12 hours. Full boat & split charters available. 20% crew gratuity not included.

Welcome to America’s Boating Club® Manatee Sail & Power Squadron The City Of Bradenton & Manatee County

The United States Power Squadrons® is America’s Boating Club®. We are a nation-wide boating organization that is structured into over 30 districts with over 300 squadrons that are geographically associated, including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. We learn together, boat together, and help each other and other boaters on the water and on land. Our members learn boating skills, engage with boating friends, and connect with the boating community.

America’s Boating Club, City of Bradenton and Manatee County is located on the west coast of Florida. Part of our core mission is the promotion of boating safety through education. We offer very comprehensive public boating education classes and/or seminars to the boating community. You are invited to look at our Education page for Educational opportunities.

Our club also provides free Vessel Safety Inspections (VSC). VSC are on a volunteer bases but offer the boat owner a second set of eyes in helping them comply with federal and state safety rules. Upon a satisfactory VSC, the boater owner receives a VSC decal to display on his boat. This service is offered in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and supported by Boat U.S.

Our meetings are held on the First Tuesday of each month at 1900 (7:00PM) at the Palmetto Elks Club. Membership in our Squadron usually begins when you sign up and complete one of the “America’s Boating Course” classes. During the class you will learn about safe boating, interact with other students, squadron/club members, and learn why our Squadron is “The Fun Squadron”.

Elmira's Wildlife Sanctuary is a non-profit corporation supported solely by members and private contributions. There are no paid employees, we're staffed entirely by volunteers. Our mission is providing loving care, life management and enrichment to exotic and wild animals in need of a home. We also provide educational opportunities which increase community awareness of these animals needs. Tour dates vary.

The ECHO Food Pantry along with the ECHO Clothing Closet was created to assist our neighbors who have suffered a recent emergency and need help with food and clothing. Neighbors who have undergone a recent loss of a job, or reduced income due to health issues, house fire, require help for emergency foster children, or other hardships are encouraged to visit us. Our neighbors in need receive 20 lbs of food and are equipped with five outfits and one pair of shoes. Children receive two new pairs of socks and underwear or diapers. If you know of someone in need please refer them to us.

The Sun City Center’s Emergency Squad’s slogan is “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.” And for over 50 years they have been doing that. Today, almost 400 volunteers serve our community and help friends and neighbors when they are in need.

Emergency Ambulance Service provides Basic Life Support (BLS) Emergency Medical Services to the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including holidays. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Advance Life Support (ALS) is available as backup in the event of life-threatening emergencies.

Medical Van Transport is available during normal business hours for wheelchair patients to doctor’s appointments, physical therapy, dialysis and, upon hospital discharge, to a nursing home or their residence in Sun City Center.

Blood Pressure Checks are available free of charge at the Squad building, 720 Ray Watson Drive, during business hours, 7:30AM to 5PM.

Florida Railroad Museum

Over the years, the Museum has acquired and preserved rolling stock and equipment to operate for the public’s enjoyment. We hope our visitors appreciate the sights and sounds of Florida railroading as it existed in the 1940s and 1950s.

The train operates on a six mile rail line between Parrish and Willow, Florida in rural Manatee County. Built by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad in the early 1900s, this was the first line through Manatee County. Following the merger of the Atlantic Coast Line and Seaboard Airline in 1967, this line was downgraded and finally abandoned in 1986.

Each weekend our diesel powered trains take passengers on an excursion using a variety of open-air, open-window and air conditioned cars. Trains are operated entirely by museum members volunteering thousands of hours a year to make this unique experience possible.

The Interfaith Action Council and Nearly New Shop have been a force for good in the South Shore area for decades. Our store serves the community as a friendly and welcoming place to shop for bargains and a place to see friends and neighbors.

When you shop at the Nearly New Shop, you are helping generate proceeds that go towards grants and scholarships distributed by the Interfaith Social Action Council of Sun City Center. The Council has operated the thrift store with its wonderful volunteers for over 54+ years.

Proceeds are used to support local nonprofit programs such as food banks and emergency assistance programs in the Sun City Center, Ruskin and Wimauma area, Sun City Center Emergency Squad, and Wimauma Boys and Girls Club

The Council also awards scholarships to dozens of seniors graduating from local high schools who are furthering their education at an accredited college, university or trade school.
